Sinéad Aldridge is an Irish artist based between Berlin and the West Coast of Ireland. She makes intimate, richly layered abstract painting. Born in Belfast, Aldridge studied Fine Art at Camberwell College of Art in London, receiving a BA Hons degree in Painting (1985), the DAAD scholarship Karlsruhe Kunstakadamie Germany (1986), and an MA in Visual Arts Practices IADT Dublin (2010). Her work conspires to expand, subvert and create new visual interpretations, presenting the viewer with a rich experiential encounter. When colour and touch align, the work becomes a poetic dialogue on the nature of identity. Recent exhibitions include: Penumbra, F.E.Mc William Gallery N.Ireland (2020); Perspectives Berlin, Tête Gallery, Berlin (2020); the sky is falling, Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast (2019).
